Ninebot ESX Error Code 48

If your Ninebot ESX(ES1, ES2, ES3, or ES4) or SNSC (1.0 or 1.1) is beeping or has a red wrench icon and flashes this code, read below.

Error 48 on a Ninebot ESX.

"External battery protection board damaged - Please replace battery."

Cause

The external battery protection board may actually be damaged, but it is more likely that the battery just got too low.

Fix

Leave it on the charger for a while and make sure that the terminals are clean.
