"Update Failed - Data Format Error"

This error is found when attempting to flash components of the scooter using ScooterHacking Utility.

It can be found across several models.

Cause

This error is caused when the vehicle has been updated to a DRV or BLE version that has downgrade protection in place.

For the Ninebot Max/G30, this began with Ninebot Max DRV 1.7.0.

All versions since then have this protection in place.

Fix

The only way to fix this currently is to use an STLink to remove the updated firmware and return to an older or patched version.
