Cause

There are two causes for this error depending on the type.

The temperature error is likely caused when the temperature sensor is not reporting a proper value.

The second is caused when rental firmware is being used and hasn't been set up properly.

Fix

Restart the scooter to see if it is temporary.

For the ESC-Battery Handshake, you must upgrade your IoT device to the latest firmware and possibly consult Segway to get the BMS link command.

For fleet owners: I am getting many reports of a recent BMS update causing error 50 on several different models. Placing the vehicle into transport mode or reaching out to Segway for assistance repairing the battery to the ESC may solve this.
