Ninebot ESX Error Code 38

If your Ninebot ESX(ES1, ES2, ES3, or ES4) or SNSC (1.0 or 1.1) is beeping or has a red wrench icon and flashes this code, read below.

Error 38 on a Ninebot ESX.

"Battery charging protection error. Please check if the extra battery is loose or check the error code again before restarting the vehicle."

Cause

This error is often caused when a fast charger is used on an ESX scooter.

If the charging current is too high it will throw this error.

Fix

Use the stock charger, make sure not to exceed the rated charging current.
