Cause

Error code 03E indicates a short circuit in one of the motor phase lines. This usually occurs during the self-test phase when the scooter is unlocked. The short circuit could be caused by:

  • Faulty motor wiring: A short circuit in the wiring between the motor and the ECU.
  • Damaged motor: The motor itself might have a short circuit within its internal windings.

Fix

  • Check motor wiring: Carefully inspect the wiring between the motor and the ECU for any signs of damage, wear, or short circuits.
  • Replace motor: If the motor wiring is intact, the motor itself likely has a short circuit. In this case, the motor needs to be replaced.
  • Replace ECU: In rare cases, the ECU might have a faulty connection that causes the error. If the motor and wiring are in good condition, consider replacing the ECU as a last resort.
