"Low-voltage protection. Battery voltage lower than threshold."

If your Okai-Electisan vehicle is beeping or has a red wrench icon and flashes this code, read below.

Expression error: Unexpected > operator.Expression error: Unexpected < operator.Expression error: Unexpected = operator.Expression error: Unexpected < operator.

Cause

Error code 02E on an Okai scooter indicates that the battery voltage has fallen below a safe operating threshold (43V). This can happen due to:

  • **Depleted battery:** The scooter has been used extensively without recharging.
  • **Battery damage:** The battery may have internal damage or is nearing the end of its lifespan.
  • **Faulty ECU sampling circuit:** The ECU's circuit responsible for monitoring battery voltage is malfunctioning.

Fix

1. **Charge the battery:** Connect the scooter to a suitable charger and allow the battery to charge fully. 2. **Check Battery Health:** After charging, if the error persists, consider the following:

   * **Battery Age:** If the battery is old, it may be nearing the end of its lifespan and needs replacement.
   * **Physical Inspection:** Examine the battery for any signs of damage (bumps, cracks, leaks).

3. **Replace the ECU:** If the battery is in good condition and charging doesn't resolve the issue, the ECU may be faulty and needs to be replaced.
