Cause

Error 16 is caused when the **right** brake hall sensor is reporting a value outside of the expected range.

This can be easily replicated by holding down the **right** brake when starting up the scooter.

In the field, this error can be caused by the magnet coming dislodged inside the **right** brake.

The error can also happen if the 049E hall sensor is blown due to a voltage spike or some other issue.

Fix

Check that the **right** brake lever is not stuck by fully pressing it down and then manually pulling it up.

Unscrew the dashboard cover and remove it to confirm that the connector for the **right** brake is still plugged in firmly.

If that does not solve the issue, you may need to disassemble the **right** brake or buy a new one.

The next thing to check is that the magnets within the **right** brake are still in the correct place.

The **right** brake will have to be disassembled to access the magnets.
