Cause
Error 16 is caused when the right brake hall sensor is reporting a value outside of the expected range.
This can be easily replicated by holding down the right brake when starting up the scooter.
In the field, this error can be caused by the magnet coming dislodged inside the right brake.
The error can also happen if the 049E hall sensor is blown due to a voltage spike or some other issue.
Fix
Check that the right brake lever is not stuck by fully pressing it down and then manually pulling it up.
Unscrew the dashboard cover and remove it to confirm that the connector for the right brake is still plugged in firmly.
If that does not solve the issue, you may need to disassemble the right brake or buy a new one.
The next thing to check is that the magnets within the right brake are still in the correct place.
The right brake will have to be disassembled to access the magnets.
